iPhone
NFC sign-in is supported on iPhone 7 and later, running iOS 13.3 or newer. It works both in Safari and in apps that support security keys, such as Microsoft 365 apps. No additional software or external reader is required. When prompted for a security key during sign-in, hold your card to the top edge of the iPhone until authentication completes.
Desktop
NFC sign-in is currently supported on Windows. Some Windows devices include built-in NFC; for those that do not, an external USB NFC reader is required. It works in Chrome and Edge, and in desktop applications that support security keys. When prompted for a security key during sign-in, place your card on the reader or NFC area until authentication completes.
A contact card can also be used in a smartcard reader, which many business computers have built in. See: Card models and configuration.
